Job Description

A Barista is a skilled professional responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee beverages and other drinks in a café or coffee shop setting. This role involves both customer service and technical expertise in brewing coffee, handling espresso machines, and creating specialty drinks.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, etc.), drip coffee, teas, and other specialty beverages with precision and attention to quality.
  • Customer Service: Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders and offering recommendations based on preferences.
  • Maintenance of Equipment: Operate, clean, and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment to ensure optimal functionality and cleanliness.
  • Knowledge of Products: Understand and communicate information about the coffee beans, brewing methods, and seasonal offerings to customers, ensuring they have a positive experience.
  • Cash Handling: Process transactions, handle cash and digital payments, and provide accurate change, all while maintaining an organized and clean cash register area.
  • Food Preparation: Assist with preparing light food items such as pastries, sandwiches, or salads, and ensure they are presented neatly.
  • Workplace Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, including regularly wiping down surfaces, sanitizing equipment, and ensuring a tidy customer-facing area.

Requirements
